THE LORD'S CHOSEN DEVOTIONAL GUIDE DATE: Tuesday, May 4th, 2021.  TEXT: James 2:13 THEME: MERCY: ANTIDOTE TO EVERY POISON  Memory Verse: “It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” (Lamentations 3:22) Sin is like poison infused into the bloodstream and has the capability to contaminate and pollute and subsequently bring death. This became the fate of the mortal man as he sinned against God. The judgment being death, he was heading towards eternal damnation until the love of God propelled mercy and God intervened. Therefore, it is obvious that without the mercy of God, humans are endangered species. The mercy of God is so powerful that it is an antidote to every spiritual poison. This is why it has the power to cancel judgment. Judgment upon the head of any human is designed to make that person to serve some kind of punishment.
