THE LORD'S CHOSEN DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

THEME: MERCY: ANTIDOTE TO EVERY POISON 

Memory Verse: “It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” (Lamentations 3:22)

Sin is like poison infused into the bloodstream and has the capability to contaminate and pollute and subsequently bring death. This became the fate of the mortal man as he sinned against God. The judgment being death, he was heading towards eternal damnation until the love of God propelled mercy and God intervened. Therefore, it is obvious that without the mercy of God, humans are endangered species. The mercy of God is so powerful that it is an antidote to every spiritual poison. This is why it has the power to cancel judgment. Judgment upon the head of any human is designed to make that person to serve some kind of punishment. It could be the judgment of death, sickness and disease, curses, poverty, failure, stagnation, limitation, rising/falling, failure at the edge of breakthrough, etc. (Deut 28:15-68) This means that judgment as a form of punishment is designed to bring sorrow, affliction, death, sicknesses and diseases and so on. Therefore, anyone under judgment suffers greatly.

Many people under judgment sometimes do everything within their reach to escape from its clutches without success. Some go the mountain to fast and pray. Sometimes, they sow seeds, give seed offerings, pay tithes, etc. Yet, these judgments persist. While the above deeds are noble, they are no guarantees. The only one thing that is sure to bring reprieve is MERCY. When mercy is in operation in the life of any person, no yoke, bondage, captivity or affliction can survive. It is for this reason that Romans 9:15-16 states, "For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy."

From the above, we come to understand that it is about mercy; not about how much you struggle as an individual. It is about you activating the mercy of God. So, what is that judgment upon your life that has brought you sorrow and untold hardship? No matter how much you have tried in order to overcome without success, the mercy of God is still available in sufficient measure to terminate it. If that be the case, why not make recourse to God and ask for His mercy? However, the only feasible way to attract God's mercy is first, to recognize the areas you have not gotten it right and repent. Then make a solemn promise not to continue in sin and then accept Jesus Christ to be your Lord and personal Saviour. When you do these, mercy shall be shown unto you and every judgment upon your head shall be cancelled, in Jesus name. Do not cover up your sins. (Proverbs 28:13)

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. O God my Father, by your mercy, cancel every judgment hanging upon my neck, in Jesus name. (Mention different kinds of judgments including curses, death, poverty, backwardness, stagnancy, limitations and so on).

2. Any satanic judgment already operating in my life and destiny; receive termination by fire, in Jesus name.

3. Any conclusion, wish, thought, imagination or decree against my life and destiny; expire by fire, in Jesus name.

4. Any evil kingdom trailing our G. O, Mommy in the Lord and their children to execute any judgment upon them; be separated from them by the Holy Ghost fire, in Jesus name.
